Spontaneous Climb Up Mount Ninderry

Thetraveljunkie.org – Last weekend, we woke up early at 8am and so we went to Yandina Market. A great chance as always to stock up on yummy local produce! Next we went for a spontaneous climb up Mount Ninderry, a pleasant climb following a stepped track to a large plateau with two viewing platforms. One covers the west, overlooking Yandina and the Blackall Range, the other is to the east overlooking Mt Coolum and Yandina Creek. The Mt Ninderry Bushland Conservation Reserve covers approx. 150 hectares, while its peak, Mt Ninderry, is 304 meters above sea level.

Strolling Around Fig Tree Walk On Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Australia

Thetraveljunkie.org – Last week, we went to Fig Tree Walk on Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Australia. 6.5kms south of Kenilworth on the Kenilworth/Maleny road lies one of the jewels of the Hinterland walks. This easy 1.1km return wheelchair friendly walk explores riverine rainforest growing near the junction of Little Yabba Creek and Mary River. This forest was once extensive along watercourses in this area. Trees growing here include the Moreton Bay fig, giant stinging tree, black bean, white cedar, flooded gum, brown tulip oak and piccabeen palm.

E-Scootering On Coastal Pathway From Coolum Beach To Twin Waters Beach

Thetraveljunkie.org – The other day, We woke up at 5am to go for a 5:30am e-scooter. It sounds a bit hard core, but our reason is that we feel that we prefer to go when there are less cars, less pedestrians and fewer other cyclists on the shared pathway! Not to mention, watching the sun rise on the Coolum Beach in Sunshine Coast is a just beautiful. We rode 26km from Coolum Beach to Twin Waters Beach (return) along the Coastal Pathway in 2 hours. Including a 30 minute stop for a cup of coffee at Liitle Boat Espresso.

People all over the world are starting to radically reimagine travel and commutes with electric vehicles (EVs) and see that these are better for the environment than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. However here on the Sunshine Coast we still lack the basic infrastructure, such as sealed roads, footpaths, bike lanes to allow the realisation of these technologies.
