Thetraveljunkie.org – A day after Lebaran day, we went to Tyrone Beach and Moonah Woodland Walk in Blairgowrie for an exercise and play. We went there early, around 8am. It was a 20 minute walk from home. we’ve done something spontaneous. We brought breakfast and it was pretty damn super yummy. There were rendang, opor ayam, crunchy fried noodles, bananas, kue putri salju, spinach smoothies, coffee and tea.

Thetraveljunkie.org – Today we bring you to the Moonah (Melaleuca Lanteolata) woodland walk in Blairgowrie, Australia. The Moonah woodland walk is an unusual formation in that it differs from the ‘stands’ of Moonah seen across the Peninsula. Usually the trees are found in spreading 5-10m branching forms where they develop large, dense canopies with little else growing underneath. On the woodland walk, which commences near Canterbury Jetty Road and continues on both sides of Point Nepean Road to approximately Tyrone Street in Rye, the trees appear in a forest formation all seeming to be of the same height, size and age creating a beautiful ambient woodland atmosphere.

Thetraveljunkie.org – We love composting. It’s so easy, eco friendly and our one small step towards sustainable living in Blairgowrie, Victoria – Australia. We own a tumble bin style composter – which simply means, all our vegetable and fruit scraps, leaves, tree cuttings, and lawn clippings get tipped into a the barrel. That’s it. It’s probably one of the most simple methods of composting, but it works for us.

I hoped an AncestryDNA test would bring me the peace I needed; my Javanese family had never been able to give me any information about our family tree. I’d always longed for a country to attribute my brownness to, or for help answering the ubiquitous “Where are you from?” question. I’d spent years making up exotic-sounding combinations to justify my appearance (some days Javanese-Japanese-Swedish; other days half Polynesia, or half New Caledonian).

Thetraveljunkie.org – We had a really nice Easter Day! Then we decided to take a walk to the Montforts Beach, Blairgowrie, on the Mornington Peninsula. The sky was cloudy and the water was a bit too cold for a swim. Nonetheless, the colour of the water turned into a brilliant turquoise everytime the sun peeked out from behind a cloud and hit the ocean. And, we found a huge Easter Bunny Rock.
