The concept is pretty simple: a beautiful Javanese limasan house with theme decorations, a farm and lots of peace.

Thetraveljunkie.org – During our trip to Yogyakarta, we stayed in a beautiful house at The Kamasari in Gedangsari area, Gunungkidul. We hopped on our motorbike and we went to Nglanggeran (15 minutes from The Kamasari), a volcano in the southeastern part of Yogyakarta, offering exceptional scenery 700 meters above sea level.

Thetraveljunkie.org – We hopped on our motorbike in Yogyakarta as we needed a swim in the ocean. It was our first time to explore the beaches of Gunungkidul and with friends down there we were happy for a spontaneous overnight getaway. We stopped for lunch and to see a lovely flower garden and arrived mid afternoon after about a three hour leisurely ride.

Thetraveljunkie.org – When we stayed at The Kamasari in Gedangsari. We made an unplanned stop roadside on the way to Sadranan Beach in Gunungkidul when we spotted this gorgeous garden. With the rise in people looking for photo worthy spots, many flower gardens have popped up around Jogjakarta, offering little bursts of colour in the most unlikely spots. This one made me smile.

Thetraveljunkie.org – Borobudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple in Magelang, Central Java, as well as the world’s largest Buddhist temple, and also one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world. The temple consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The temple is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa.
