Thetraveljunkie.org – We set out on an adventure to explore the stunning natural beauty of Girraween National Park, which is located in the Granite Belt region of Queensland. After a few hours of driving from Brisbane, we arrived at the park and were immediately struck by its rugged, mountainous terrain. One of the first sights we visited was Granite Arch, a unique rock formation that has been sculpted by natural forces over millions of years. As we learned from the information plaques, the Granite Arch was created through a combination of water, wind, and plant growth, which have continued to shape and mold it into the stunning formation it is today. We marveled at the intricacy of the Granite Arch and the power of nature to create such beauty.

Thetraveljunkie.org – I recently had the pleasure of going on a staycation to Ridgemill Estate: Cabins in the Vineyard, located in Stanthorpe, in the Granite Belt wine region. We drove from Brisbane, enjoying the scenic route along the way. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff at Ridgemill Estate and checked into our cozy cabin, which was situated among the vineyards. The cabin had a private deck that offered stunning views of the vineyards and the countryside beyond. We immediately felt a sense of peace and relaxation wash over us.

It’s known for its crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, surf, and relaxed lifestyle. We visited Byron Bay for a weekend getaway and we had an amazing time. We stayed at a hotel that was centrally located and offered easy access to all the major attractions in town.

Thetraveljunkie.org – Want to escape the bustle of the beach this summer? Today, we’ll bring you to Cedar Creek Swimming Holes in Samford (not the waterfall in Mount Tamborine; they have the same name). This is the best rock pool north of Brisbane. It took only 30 minutes to drive there from Brisbane CBD. This is a great place to take a dip and cool off in summer or soak up the sun on a large rock in winter. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy nature. There are no established bushwalking paths in the area, so best to stay near the creek.

Thetraveljunkie.org – One of the things that I like most about Spring is going for a Jacaranda picnic. The Jacaranda is an iconic tree in Brisbane and the city during Spring looks super lovely. Although Jacarandas are native to Central and South America, they have been planted in Brisbane since 1864 and have become a city favourite. Most of the Jacarandas in Brisbane come from seeds from the first tree planted in the city. Some of the best places to see Jacarandas in bloom are New Farm Park, Dockside Walk at Kangaroo Point, the University of Queensland at St Lucia, William Dart Park at St Lucia, and Jacaranda Park at Yeronga.

Brisbane as the stage, and Kelir X Silk Laundry as the host. The rest? All surprises. Kelir launched a book, “JAVANESE INDIGO BATIK: Discovering the ancient wisdom of the indigo natural-dyeing process”-written by batikologist Zahir Widadi, at Silk Laundry.
