And we’ve devised a celebration of Indonesian Independence Day in Brisbane – to make life just a bit nicer. From volcanoes to surf beaches and the Komodo Dragon, Indonesia is a drawcard for holiday-makers from all around the globe. While I can’t travel there at the moment, I can still celebrate Indonesian Independence Day on August 17 by sitting at my favourite spots and enjoying the city changing to red and white like the Indonesian flag.

Brisbane In 24 Hours

Thetraveljunkie.org – Unreal! I lived in Brisbane now for a better life. In today’s post, I wanted to take you around the city and show off the many different things Brisbane has to offer. The best thing to start the morning is to have a cup of coffee (especially when it’s 9 degrees outside). Australia has one of the highest coffee consumption rates in the world and finding a coffee shop is pretty easy. This time we went to The Brooke in Fortitude Valley. The coffee is delicious and the location is great with outside seating giving views of the Church across the road.

Checking In To Capri by Fraser, Brisbane / Australia

Thetraveljunkie.org – I stayed at Capri by Fraser, Brisbane. This little hotel certainly punches above its weight. I stayed there just for a weekend after 2.5 years of not traveling because of the pandemic. Great location, top hotel. Great value and very nice room. The bed was very comfortable and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. Brisbane, Queensland’s capital, is a cosmopolitan hub for arts, culture, and dining. It has lots of laid-back charm and the living is super easy. If you love Stockholm, you will love Brisbane too.

Our first stop in the area was at Fairhill Native Botanic Garden, an amazing space where you can get your hands on some really cool native plants. We then drove to Terella Brewing, the sustainable farm-style brewery you need to know about, one of our favourite breweries nearby. Pete the Greek and Mango beer are one of the best collaboration.

Sunshine Coast With Rainbows

Thetraveljunkie.org – One of the things we like the most about subtropical zones such as Sunshine Coast is being able to enjoy them from a different perspective. This may have something to do with rainbows. We were driving around the Coolum Beach when we came across Yandina Creek. We found an amazing rainbow where you can enjoy the universe. The great thing about it is that it’s free and it’s less busy than big cities, despite the fact that the view from there is honestly incredible and doesn’t compare to anything we’ve seen to date.

Train from Nambour to Brisbane via Glass House Mountains, a picnic lunch at the Glass House Mountains Lookout then exploring wonderful Glass House Mountains by electric scooter. The beautiful Glass House Mountains are a natural playground loaded with walking tracks and epic lookouts. The magnificent rocky outcrops are actually remnants of volcanic activity that occurred more than 25 million years ago. As the volcanic mountains cooled stunning vertical columns emerged, and today, they have become iconic landmarks on the Sunshine Coast.
