Thetraveljunkie.org – It actually happened. We started all over and we celebrated it the best way! With the Indonesian big family at Wisma Indonesia in Lidingö, Stockholm. But what were we celebrating? Hari Raya Lebaran. It was a wonderful day, and we enjoyed the good vibes of Wisma Indonesia in Stockholm.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Travel is always a pleasure, but when you discover incredible places and learn new things, is even better. On our last trip we visited Shrine of Remembrance and Royal Botanic Garden at Birdwood Avenue, around south of Flinders Street Railway Station and Federation Square.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Sun touching our skin. Now is this time of the year that we rescue those summer feelings that bring happy memories to us, but the truth is that we want to create new ones! That’s why we begin the summer with these memories of our last trip to Kokoda Memorial Walk (1000 Steps), an institution for fitness enthusiasts across Melbourne. Making the 3km trek one of the most popular spots in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, but its steep terrain is not to be underestimated. But this suits many just fine who are often preparing to undertake the real “Kokoda Track”.
Thetraveljunkie.org – The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nusantara (Museum MACAN) was one of the highlights of our trip in Jakarta. Our expectations were really high, especially after visiting National Gallery of Victoria, and we must say we weren’t disappointed.
Thetraveljunkie.org – The next night, as an extra treat at Bandara International Hotel, we ordered our dinner to come up to the room. It was 7.30 pm. WHOA! Room service! Just like in the movies! OMG the french fries were so good! It was the best fish and chips I’d ever eaten in Jakarta! The oxtail soup was still hot and full of flavour! Oh yum this was so so soooo yummmy!
Thetraveljunkie.org – The other day I headed over to Bandara International Hotel with my bojo. It was my first time in this Bandara Hotel. We stayed 2 nights in a suite room, my bojo and I had such an amazing time that I just had to share. The main pool was gorgeous. I had a swim in the morning, afternoon and night time. My bojo and I booked some massages at the hotel, which were excellent.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We love traveling and there’s so many different ways of doing it. You can go on a trip to explore new places or to lounge in the airport. You can travel to have fun with your friends or to enjoy the peace and quiet. Whichever way you do it, traveling is good and it’s a great way of getting to know yourself and the rest of the world.
Thetraveljunkie.org – If there’s a place that we love to come back, that’s Jakarta. A dirty, magical and colorful city, but we have to confess that this time has been different, this time we’ve been hosted at the wonderful Bandara International Hotel managed by AccorHotels. An exquisite resort style experience and the convenience of an airport hotel.
Thetraveljunkie.org – A few weeks ago we spent a day at Cape Schanck National Park, the most southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula at the meeting of Bass Strait and Western Port. It has been protected since the 1800’s and was made a national park in 1988 and offers spectacular scenery. We love visiting different spots in Victoria and especially those that we haven’t been to before, it always makes us think that you don’t have to travel far to see amazing things. And, the cool weather means the days are much more enjoyable and we finally have time to do stuff we haven’t managed to do so already.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfilment. And, today we bring you the photos which we took in the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden (formerly the National Rhododendron Garden), host to brilliantly coloured blooms of over 15,000 rhododendrons, 12,000 azaleas, 3,000 camellias, 250,000 daffodils and countless cherries. Seasonal changes ensure the gardens are a delight all year around.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Pekalongan is full of heritage, textures and different places to see. We have never been to a place with a wooden-boat industry like this small area of Pekalongan full of giant wooden-boats, that blends in with the river that flows out to the ocean. It’s a thousand light years from any place we’ve ever seen. This is one of our favourite spots in Pekalongan, Central Java. You’ll find this to be an untouristy place with an amazing culture and view.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We are in Pekalongan right now and we’ll spend the rest of the weekend in this amazing city! So excited with all the things to come! A bed that gets you trapped, a bath to get lost for hours and incomparable relaxation you’ll want for your life.
