A Walk In Bukit Kapur Jaddih, Madura Island

Thetraveljunkie.org – You’re probably sick of hearing about how much we love nature but it’s true. And our love and appreciation for the great outdoors continues. We believe respecting, looking after and admiring nature should be part of everyone’s daily existence. Sometimes humans don’t treat Mother Nature well and mining is one example of this. But we still like to look for the unexpected beauty and that’s one of the reasons why we decided to head to Madura Island when we did; to enjoy the Bukit Kapur Jaddih.
We Tried Everything From Suwe Ora Jamu. Here Are Our Favorites!

Thetraveljunkie.org – It’s no secret that we love jamu. Jamu (old spelling Djamu) are traditional Javanese drinks generally drunk for health. They are predominantly made from natural materials, such as parts of plants such as roots, bark, flowers, seeds, leaves and fruits. When in Jakarta, we were feeling nostalgic for Solo, Central Java so we headed over to one of our favourite South Jakarta cafes, Suwe Ora Jamu. As always, we loved the atmosphere great and its retro Javanese furnishings.
Sleeping Under the Stars in Kawah Wurung, East Java

Thetraveljunkie.org – When we were in Bondowoso, we explored Kawah Wurung with its beautiful savanna. We love the word Savanna. We’re not too keen on its literal meaning, we like its symbolic meaning much more. A Savanna is a calm place, it symbolises hope and the happiness that comes when you find something when you least expect it. Without concrete, the cold or being in a hurry. A place full of grass, peace and gorgeous hot weather. We wore basic pieces for a camp, clothing that you can wear all the time no matter the occasion, pieces that are essentially part of every closet’s savanna.
Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy Mornings

Thetraveljunkie.org – We love traveling and there’s so many different ways of doing it. And the most important thing about traveling is the actual experience. The sensations and memories that you will take away from a unique and special holiday. We woke up in the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, the best area for shopaholics. Its streets are full of heritage places, antique shops, clothes stores and peranakan foods.
Someone on Instagram recommended that we visit the executive lounge at the hotel for breakfast, and how could be we pass up the opportunity to go somewhere that serves breakfast all day? We’ve already talked about how breakfast is our favourite meal of the day and warm place – and the perfect way to start our day.
Walking Around East Coast Park, Singapore

Thetraveljunkie.org – On our second afternoon, my bojo and I went to East Coast Park, a short stroll from the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. Despite the humid weather, the park was lovely and cool fringed with green grass and shady trees. We joined the local families and tourists walking, biking and rollerblading along the beachside track. We spent around walking and talking along the track with a stop to look at the harbour full of ships and to enjoy the cool sea breeze. There were a number of bike rental companies, renting bikes, skates and all safety equipment.
Visiting Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple in Singapore

Thetraveljunkie.org – Our first day in Singapore was super sunny, with the kind of sun drops that stay on your glasses and refresh your face. We had so much energy and were really excited. We spent the day walking around one of our favourite areas: Katong. And we visited the Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple as part of a heritage walk with Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. It’s just up the road from the hotel. Laviously decorated temple dedicated to Ganesha. It’s name means the Ganesha temple under the cempaka tree.
Chin Mee Chin Confectionary, Where Kaya Toast Meets Coffee & Peranakan Singaporean

Thetraveljunkie.org – When we stayed in Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, we headed to the famous Chin Mee Chin Confectionary, old school coffee shop. Arriving just as the store opened we beat the crowds of trendy visitors and local families who had already formed while we were seated. The cafe has kept its original furnishings from the marble topped wooden tables, the tiled floor, open kitchen and a retro fifties clock which has seen generations come and go. And, it was really nice to see people out and about enjoying the morning.
A Wonderful Taste In Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy

Thetraveljunkie.org – We woke up bright and early, we headed over to Feast @ East the Buffet Restaurant for breakfast at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. It was very posh, relaxing and the food was absolutely lovely. I ate so much dim sum. There was laksa too. It was so nice to sit around on beautiful chairs, nibble on small portions of food, drink amazing teas, talk to my bojo.

Thetraveljunkie.org – Today we wanted to show you the photos that we took a dinner time at Breez bistro bar in Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, it is the best option to eat something special. We’ve always liked this restaurant for its atmosphere and how well-located it is. We ordered Executive Set Dinner (appetizer, soup, main and dessert). They are the perfect dinner choice. And we always have an exotic splash or alcohol collections. Wishing you all a fab day!
