Thetraveljunkie.org – We woke up at 7am and we went to Klaten for our other organic pool, the Umbul Nilo or Umbul Nila, a beautiful place where we had a bit of a rest and tucked into a bakmi jowo. The food was delicious! Without knowing, we were in one of the most famous springs of the area. It’s got the best springs of the Klaten, some areas of crystal clear water!- and amazingly it’s not too crowded. This organic pool would have a lot to do.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We had already been in the spirit of Java a few months ago but we can almost get away with saying that this was our second time and the experience was incredible, thanks to, in part, the hotel where we stayed. We stayed at suite room, the Solo Paragon Hotel, a hotel and residences with the remarkable blend of comfort, exquisiteness and service. The first hotel in Solo combined with the apartment and mall facilities, it will definitely bring you to the ultimate one stop facility that fulfills your every needs and desire.

Thetraveljunkie.org – I went to visit the Institute Seni Indonesia Surakarta, a place where culture is still born and where you can get an idea about what you will see during seasons to come. It was a lovely show, with lovely architecture and lots of space. There’s an infallible combination that will never go out of culture: creativity, respect and the willingness to achieve greatness.

There are a lot of good things yet to come and we have a feeling that it will be a great year. Life can go by pretty fast, so much so that it’s almost impossible to think… so we decided to sharing knowledge everything we did – and what a blogging it was! We’ve loved gathering time with Bloggers Solo at Swiss-Belinn Saripetojo Solo. Life is, after all, all about passion, right?
Thetraveljunkie.org – During our last stay at The Royal Surakarta Heritage Solo we went to their restaurant for a perfect lunch. We had already been a few times and we didn’t think twice about going back. We came across a totally refurbished space, and very welcoming. The menu hasn’t changed, it’s full of delicious things. If you are ever in Solo, don’t miss this spot, its nasi goreng srikandi, soup buntut, udang balado a la padang, and semar mendem duren are to die for!
Thetraveljunkie.org – We hadn’t been to Klaten for months, so it was like we were visiting for the first time and the tropical sun made our visit even more special. If you need somewhere to spend a few hours in the afternoon, we’d recommend the Umbul Manten. We love the word Umbul (springs). We’re not too keen on its literally meaning, we like its symbolic meaning much more. An springs is a calm place, it symbolises life and the happiness that comes when you find something when you least expect it. A place full of love and peace.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Paradise is not just for a tropical private island. A few weeks ago we went back to Solo and stayed at the Royal Surakarta Heritage, an amazing getaway in the middle of a heritage and inspired on the spirit of Java. We enjoyed the typical cuisine in an beautiful setting and managed to take in the hotel’s priceless qualities: peace and quiet. That’s paradise. Come in and check it out for yourself!
Thetraveljunkie.org – We love going away to switch off every now and again. There’s nothing better than leaving the city and surrounding yourself with nature, clean air and silence to recharge your batteries. This weekend my friends and I went to Kemuning in Karanganyar, Central Java. It’s our first time there and we took a photo session with ‘Indonesian Melania Trump’ at a secret waterfall, an amazing place.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We don’t like Maths but today is all about numbers. Two plus zero plus one plus seven equals ten and that can only stand for something good. We’re looking forward to 12 months full of great things and that’s what we’re going to try and achieve every day. And time goes by so fast. We don’t know whether it is because of our job or our lifestyle but we really do think that time flies. That is why we are trying to make the most of it and are trying very hard to enjoy our free time.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Breakfast was included in the price at The Royal Surakarta Heritage Solo and it was pretty damn good. The restaurant was lovely and spacious! I loved the eclectic mix of antique collectables, natural surfaces, and random kitchen objects with heritage details.
Thetraveljunkie.org – It’s the middle of the afternoon, I’m cruising down a small country road, surrounded by a tunnels of trees, I’m sitting in a car with my local friends, holding a packet of chips in one hand, a phone in the other, sun is spilling onto my lap, we’re looking for Bukit Paralayang in Karanganyar, Central Java. We’re using a google map app, my best friend is driving, I’m navigating, my friends are laughing and my heart glows —
Thetraveljunkie.org – Our job haves us moving around all the time – we can be one day at home in Jakarta and the day after flying somewhere else for a photo shoot. Not having schedules and a fixed routine may sound very appealing, but it’s not easy and we’ve found it’s super important to establish healthy food and exercise habits. We are over the moon to be writing from one of our favourite cities in the world, the spirit of Java. We could not think of better photos to upload, which we took at the Spa and Gym Alila, Alila Solo. It is undoubtedly one of our favorites.
