Superblogger at Novotel Bangkok Platinum, Thailand

Thetraveljunkie.org – Novotel Bangkok Platinum, located in Bangkok’s fashion district is a hotel I know quite well. Discover Thainess!

Novotel Bangkok Platinum is situated above Platinum Mall, a few minutes walk from Central World Shopping Center, Siam Square, MBK, Pratunam market and BTS stations. Blending comfort and technology, the hotel is the perfect choice for your next holiday or business trip.

Here’s how my recent stay at the Novotel Bangkok Platinum went.

Pre-Arrival
Was there any pre-arrival communication by the hotel with myself via email or social media? My stay was organised very last-minute. It was organised by a multitude of channels.

Did I try engage the hotel via social media? Did the hotel interact with me and made me feel welcome/special? I had, the hotel responded to me.

Has the hotel tried to gather any personal information (e.g. preferences) prior to my stay? No, and it was fine. No hotel is perfect, as we all know… but this one… pretty special!

Arrival
The wow factor! What was the hotel decor style? After the first bonjour when we left our car, it was difficult to be immune to the contrast between such a traditional and such a modern decor.

How quick and efficient was the hotel check-in? We had a great check-in – it was busy every guest was processed quickly and efficiently.

Was I addressed by name once reservation has been located? Yes I was, and as I checked in, the guest services team came to greet me and escort me to my Bedroom Suite at 2202.

Did I feel genuinely welcomed by the hotel staff? The staff who checked me in and walked me to my room was lovely. Really friendly (and smiley), as were all the staff we encountered during my stay.

WiFi – was I told anything about it? Was there a charge? WiFi is free at Novotel Bangkok Platinum and worked well.

Room Experience
First impressions – decor, size and wow factor? The room was very nice. I can’t fault it in any way. The modern decor and a great view.

Welcome amenity? Hey Accor, where’s my local welcome amenity? so sad!

The Bed? Well, this is where my second problems started. The bed was so nice and comfortable, that it reminded me of home. Love the pillows. I ordered a Thai oil body massage before I go to sleep at night. That’s LUXURY. Actually difficult to get out of bed the next day.

Closet/Wardrobe – proper hangers or those annoying ones where you need a PhD to get them out one by one? Everything was fine in this department. All as needed. Had lots of hangers, and of various types.

Bathrobes and slippers? Yes, as standard.

Coffee and Tea? Yes, there was a kettle and a selection of teas and coffee, which I did not use.

Free bottled water? Yes and changed daily.

Power sockets in useful places – we have more and more devices and we know where we want them! By the bed, by the working area. There were some plugs by the bed, which is good for phone etc. But needed a few more!

The bathroom cannot be faulted in any way. Really modern and actually very nice. I quite liked the bathroom.

Bath, shower and taps – I am looking for Duravits and Hansgrohes (or other fab brands) around the world. How fab was the shower? All state of the art, as they should be. The bathtub was outstanding.

Towels – yes, please! How many and how soft and lovely? They were fine and amazing.

Toiletries – own brand, super brand, baby ones or proper ones? I was expecting Hermes in small sizes, but got baby Novotel instead, which was a very nice surprise. Very good quality products.

Amenity kit – very good.

Hairdryer – is it a human one, or just something stuck to a wall that only makes noise? There was a proper hairdryer which I didn’t use.

Breakfast is served in Novotel Bangkok Platinum. It was busy when we visited either during the day.

During the rest of my stay, I chose local and western food. There was a good bread selection, but the local fruit no so much. I was expecting more.

And, do not forget bring your kids to Kids Club.

General thoughts:
How good and reliable was the wifi? The wifi was good and effective. And free.

Did the hotel interact with me via social media during my stay? No, which I do ‘appreciate’.

Location? Perfect!

Would I recommend it to my best friends and readers? I would and we think it must be time for a return to Bangkok soon.

Would I stay again? Absolutely. It is just a matter of when

Have you visited this hotel? What were your thoughts?
