This journey took me straight into the heart of Australia, to the iconic red centre where one of the world’s greatest natural wonders stands proudly. I was booked on Virgin Australia flight VA 1693 in economy class, and while the overall flight was fantastic, there’s one travel tip every passenger should know: avoid seat 8A — there’s no window! When I first checked in, I was excited to be seated in row 8, thinking I’d enjoy a perfect view of the Australian outback from above. However, to my surprise, seat 8A had no window at all. For anyone who loves taking in the view during a flight, this was a bit disappointing. So, if you’re booking with Virgin Australia for this route, make sure to double-check your seat choice to avoid the same situation.

What once was a long and winding road trip is now transformed into a futuristic experience of pure speed, comfort, and cinematic beauty. The journey begins at Veranda Hotel in Jakarta, where I kick off my adventure. From there, I make my way through the bustling city using Busway and then connect seamlessly to the LRT, heading straight to the futuristic Halim Station. Every step of the way feels like part of a well-designed travel flow, leading me toward the highlight of the day — boarding the WHOOSH train for the very first time.
