Thetraveljunkie.org – The other day, we went to Indische Buurt for work and spend some time getting lost in this amazing city. The weather was not that great so we decided to spend the afternoon in the kapsalon, book store and got a rejuvenating massage. We grabbed some food, where we have gone lots of times and went for dinner at Badhuis Javaplein, for the first time, and now we are completely hooked. These kind of experiences make travelling such a pleasure. The perfect way to enjoy time away from our routine.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I headed down to Oba Biblioteek Indische Buurt with 3 other localfriends. When I saw the 12,000 music CDs, I was struck with spontaneous craziness, stripped off and jumped in – in my black-major fx headphone from Marshall. When it rained, we did a lot of sitting around and listening. I finished 5 CDs and 2 books, which felt awesome to accomplish.

Thetraveljunkie.org – One of the things that we love most about traveling is organising foodie routes in all the different cities that we go to. It’s the best way to get to know restaurants and cafés. During our most recent trip to Amsterdam we checked out one of our favourite Italian restaurant. we felt drawn towards La Storia Della Vita, a very cosy Italian restaurant in the Centre Canal District. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is to die for. We will definitely be going back and we hope that it will be sooner rather than later.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Amsterdam’s always been a liberal place, ever since the Golden Age, when it led European art and trade. Centuries later, in the 1960s, it again led the pack – this time in the principles of tolerance, with broad-minded views on drugs and same-sex relationships taking centre stage. Today the cannabis coffee shops and the Red Light district are still the city’s top drawcards, even if that can sometimes wear thin for the locals.

When you’re in Mercure Amsterdam Centre Canal District and find a breakfast restaurant, you know you have to walk in. Did you smell fresh croissants? Make a good start of the day and try breakfast buffet with fresh orange juice, cold cuts, Dutch & French bread, cereal, sweet pastries, scrambled eggs and bacon, a fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, dutch pancakes, chicken sausages and more.

A beautiful boutique located in the famous Amsterdam Canal District, close to the Prinsengracht. In other words, perfect for my Amsterdam life. I love Canal District and have to say, this hotel really surprised me.

We have been lucky enough to travel with the iAmsterdam and see amazing places and have experienced great things. Today we wanted to share some photos which we made in a Canal Tour, Amsterdam. We got to see the historic city has to offer such as the Zevenbogenbruggengracht, the Skinny Bridge, the VOC-ship and the docks. The Day Canal Cruise is the unique way to experience the city!

Thetraveljunkie.org – This morning is the one day that I fancy going out (not a room service) for breakfast in Alila Jakarta and I came accross one of my fave restaurants, Buzz restaurant. It is tastefully decorated and boasts a brilliant menu. I retired to my favourite window with a Lontong Sayur and had the most lovely 15 minutes of morning bliss. Fantastic!
