Thetraveljunkie.org – Yesterday night, I went out for dinner at Buzz Restaurant, Alila Jakarta. I arrived at 8.45pm and I ordered Fresh Squid Ink Pasta with prawns, garlic, semi dried tomato, sambal olek and coriander. It was a good sizes portion, creamy, fresh and full of flavour. Lastly, I chose the Es Campur, ice mixed with fruits, cassava, sago, syrup and condensed milk. YUM! I had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great, the portions were good and the food was tasty.
Thetraveljunkie.org – When I stayed at the Alila Jakarta where I would have happily stayed for forever. After only 2 hours of sleep in the afternoon, at 2.45pm, I woke up with a sore head and staggered downstairs for the lunch. Shanghai Storm, soon became one of my favorites restaurants in the world. I discovered this chinese-restaurant was to enjoy a good Steam Chicken Siew Mai, fresh Seafood La Mi An Spicy made by a kind uncle and nice atmosphere. The broth was so delicious and comforting.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We could not think of better photos to upload, which we took at the Spa Alila, Alila Jakarta. It is undoubtedly one of our favorites. We loved the atmosphere, and it is the perfect place to relax in the centre of Jakarta. And we recommend any of its lovely Balinese massages, feel tension dissolve with this ancient Balinese healing therapy that combines gentle stretching, long therapeutic strokes and skin rolling to relieve muscle pain. Palm and thumb pressure techniques are also applied to unravel the deepest stress and improve blood flow. The Spa Alila has everything that I look for in a spa: good therapist, amazing rest and lovely atmosphere.
Thetraveljunkie.org – The next morning in Alila Jakarta, I ordered our Indonesian breakfast to come up to the room. Just as an extra treat! Yellow Coconut Rice served with beef, potato cake, bean cake, egg chili sauce, sauteed vegetables and seasonal fruits. It was 7am. WHOA! Room service! OMG this is one of the best yellow coconut rice I’ve ever eaten! I’m going to cry! This beef is still hot! Oh yum this egg chili sauce is so so soooo goood muuum!
Thetraveljunkie.org – This particular day, I went to dinner at Buzz Restaurant in Alila Jakarta. I arrived at 8.30pm and I ordered Nasi Goreng Alila – fried rice with seafood served with chicken sate, crackers, fried egg and sambal. YUM!! It was succulent, tender, and so yummy. Nasi Goreng was always my favorite. Fresh Ginger Ale – Sparkling mineral water, freshly juiced ginger, freshly juiced green apple. And lastly, I ordered one of my childhood favorites: Pisang Bakar Keju – grilled bananas topped with grated cheddar and dark chocolate. It was sooo good. I was in absolute heaven!
Thetraveljunkie.org – This hotel in the middle of Jakarta’s central business district, a welcome retreat from the energy of its surrounding streets, the Alila Jakarta was a fantastic choice for us when we recently visited this great city. Overlooking The National Museum (Monas), the hotel feels surprisingly isolated and is itself adorned with overtones of museum-worthy abstract art.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I absolutely love island hopping, it’s the perfect time of year to travel and get to rediscover places. Pearl of Trawangan has always been the perfect traveling companion, I have been lucky enough to travel with the resort and see amazing places and have experienced great things. Today I wanted to share a video which I made for Pearl of Trawangan in Gili Island, Lombok. I visited the Pearl of Trawangan and totally transports you to a summery atmosphere which makes you dream about palm trees, sun, the beach and blue sea. And now the question is, where shall we go next? Jakarta, Amsterdam and Paris.
Thetraveljunkie.org – When I stayed in Primebiz Kuta Bali, I attended the Devdan show in Bali Nusa Dua Theatre, a five-star BTDC area. The show begins with two bored young travel junkies, who find a hidden treasure box in their trip. They begin their magical journey as they pick up a few traditional items from different regions. During the show, the 38 performers present dances from some parts of Indonesia, including Bali, Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan and Papua. The educative extravaganza shows countless stage effects such as torrential rain pours, flame bursts as well as different types of aerial ballet.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We are delighted to be able to rediscover on this classic adventure in Gili Trawangan; walking and snorkeling around, taking photos and making new memories. And, we are back in Bali although not for long. From the moment you step off the boat you become part of a colourful landscape. Getting lost around the ocean, under the sun and taking in all the different colours should be a must-see for all travel junkies.
Thetraveljunkie.org – The best way to start a new day here in Gili Trawangan is having a great sunrise in Pearl of Trawangan. It was almost 5am, best timing to shoot: I spent a morning around Pearl Beach Lounge and I really enjoyed myself and I took so many great photos. Hope you like them as much as I do! Enjoy the night, but remember that sunrise is better, the colours were beautiful, and the textures, shadows and shapes were just stunning. Everyday I fall in love more and more with Gili Trawangan.
Thetraveljunkie.org – The other night I took a shower and went out for dinner in our Gili Trawangan, Pearl of Trawangan. There are so many places where you can have a dinner or lunch, they have a great interiors and delicious food (even many of them are vegan and gluten free!). So we decided to have dinner at Trawangan Beach Lounge where I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs and mango granita. Yum!
