Thetraveljunkie.org – While I was in Ratchaburi, I went to a Thai lunch at the Suan Silp Baan Din. The place is an arts centre nestled peacefully in a mango tree orchard.
From the outside, it looked pretty unassuming, boring and plain.
But taking a step inside, and we were greeted with an eclectic mix of retro furniture, ethnic materials, funky bits and pieces, vintage this and that, 60’s and 70’s tune.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I went to Jipathapun Ban Khu Bua Museum, Ratchaburi, a local museum of the community created by many organizations within the district.
We had so much fun! Everyone was so happy!
Originally, the place was established in order to pay homage to Thai-Vietnamese ancestors living in Ratchburi province.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I have to be honest and say that when Discover Thainess trip to Ratchaburi, I didn’t know very much about Tao Hong Tai Ceramics.
I was a little embarressed to discover that:
For over 60 years Tao Hong Tai have specialized in producing a wide variety of high quality ceramics including Chinese ceramics, Thai ceramics, and modern ceramics.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I just love this photo. Wat Khanon is located off the city island in the western part of Ayutthaya.
It was built beside a bend in the Chao Phraya, which is used to deliver irrigation water inland via Khlong Maha Phram.
The temple is situated on the border of the Ban Pom and Ban Mai districts.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Nang Yai Shadow Puppet Drama at Wat Khanon was first established during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, King Rama 5.
The origanator of the carved leather puppet figures was a highly respected senior priest by the name of Satthasunthorn (Grandfather Klom), who was born in 1848, the years of the monkey, and died on 5th December, 1942, in his 95th year.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I had the pleasure of attending the Nang Yai Shadow Puppet Drama at Wat Khanon Temple, Ratchaburi.
For my international readers, the art of Nang Yai Shadow Puppet Drama is one of Thailand’s finest and most admired treasures, showing off many intrinsic values of Thai art.
Thetraveljunkie.org – I’m a huge history and heritage buff. While I was in Ratchaburi, I visited Nang Yai Museum Wat Khanon.
The museum is situated at Wat Khanon temple, in Tambon Soi Fa, on the Mae Klong riverside, approximately 10kms, from Amphoe Photharam.
It is a typical Thai house with an exhibition about Nang Yai, its history, and process of making Nang Yai puppets.
Thetraveljunkie.org – Wat Bang Kung was built in Ayudhaya period (more than 200 years old) and covered by roots of local trees.
Where has been honored as one of the Unseen Thailand, inside an old Buddhist temple is the is a large statue of Nin Mani Buddha, or the villagers called the Luang Phor Dum late Ayutthaya kingdom.

Thetraveljunkie.org – While we were in Baan Amphawa Resort & Spa, Samut Songkhram, I went out to Saban-Nga Restaurant with my friends for a Thai dinner party. Thailand food is one of my favourite cuisines in the world.
We arrived at 7pm. The restaurant was lovely and spacious, there were lots of tables and seating. We share an amazing of delicious Thai food.
And this is what we ate.

I ate some breakfast, then change the world. Yuuummm.
