Thetraveljunkie.org – Walking to get completely lost is the best way to get to know new places. This is exactly what we did a couple of weeks ago in Hat Yai in Thailand, walking around the city when we came across our new favourite place, Hamid Restaurant on Prachatipat Rd, serving delicious food and with a good atmosphere which will see us return on our next visit.
Thetraveljunkie.org – When in Hat Yai, we went to Hat Yai Floating Market or Khlong Hae Floating Market, an incredible culture space where you can enjoy local culture while having the place to yourself. To get there you can take local transport from Hat Yai City. At the floating market vendors pack their wares onto small boats and jostle with each other for the attention of buyers alongside canals. There is large number of vendors selling a big variety of local Thai food and snacks. A real festival of colours, smells and flavours! The food is mostly halal and suitable for muslims. The market also has a campaign for the environment as the sellers use bamboo tubes, coconut shells, and clay pots instead of using plastic bags or foam boxes.
Thetraveljunkie.org – We woke up bright and early at Mercure Bandung Setiabudi, we headed over to Kencana Voyage. We settled for fresh pastries and coffee at the Kencana Voyage lounge. Then on the way Jakarta, with Kencana Voyage, premium shuttles or simply referred as Voyagers are well equipped with carefully selected leather on each seat, USB ports, Wi-Fi aboard. Thetraveljunkie.org – Some hotels really become part of one’s life. And Mercure Bandung Setiabudi, in the Bandung in Indonesia, has been part of mine. We arrived in Bandung in the midnight and from the moment we arrived and we saw the hotel we realised it was special. It was easy to breathe peace in every corner. We were lucky enough to spend a few amazing days in one of the best hotels in Bandung.

Thetraveljunkie.org – What makes a pleasant holiday? Of the many things, having a great accommodation is important especially in destinations like Bandung, Indonesia. On today’s post we visit Mercure Bandung Setiabudi restaurant for a late breakfast. It is undoubtedly one of our favourites. The hotel offers breakfast daily. Just a walk away, you can have a buffet on our side – their breakfast spread fills you up and gets you fueled for the rest of the day. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is to die for. We will definitely be going back!
Thetraveljunkie.org – Today we wanted to show you the photos that we took in Bandung a couple of days ago when we stayed at Mercure Bandung Setiabudi. We took advantage of some spare time to walk around the hotel and eat Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Bolognese, Bebek Goreng (deep fried duck served with sambal matah and vegetable urap) and Chocolenak (traditional frood from West Java served with chocolate, enten and jackfruit) at the restaurant. And we ordered Green parrot (soda, orange juice, coconut cream, blue curacao syrup), Tropical Dream (soda, pineapple juice, coconut milk, blue curacao syrup, fresh banana), Berry Popper (soda, lemon juice, strawberry, cherry, lychee, selasih seed, grenadyne syrup).
Thetraveljunkie.org – Pictures from a perfect dinner at Mercure Bandung Setiabudi, West Java. We are on the road right now and we’ll spend the rest of the month in this fantastic city! The service is incredible, handmade Tom Yang Soup is delicious and their seafood and pasta are of the best we’ve tried. So excited with all the things to come! More pictures and stories soon! Thetraveljunkie.org – We knew that our next destination would perfect for us to relax in. We arrived in Bandung in the night and after about a 15 minute motorbike taxi drive we arrived at our hotel: Mercure Bandung Setiabudi. We were lucky enough to stay in a room with a pool, perhaps even bigger than all the houses where we have all lived in the past put together. The interior was the perfect combination of colours. We woke up at 7am and we had our daily breakfast in room. The food was delicious!

And spending some days at the Mercure Bandung Setiabudi. We started our trip in Jakarta heading to Bandung. If you are after somewhere to have a coffee or tea we recommend that you head to Kencana Voyage Coffee house, which is an amazing place, with excellent coffee and delicious cakes.

The street’s walls are filled with graffiti which turn any walk into an amazing experience. It is impossible to not go crazy.
