[VIDEODIARY] HAT YAI AND TRANG, THAILAND

Thetraveljunkie.org – Today we bring you the videodiary which we took in the 20th Anniversary of Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2016 trip, one of the trips that we were dying to see in Thailand. The 1st Trang Underwater Wedding was initiated by the willingness of Khun Yongyudh Vichaidit (Governor of Trang at that time) and Khun Surin Tohtubtiang (President of The Trang Chamber of Commerce at that time) to fulfil the dream of lovers by arranging the traditional Thai wedding ceremony, together with a wedding certificate formally signed under the water. With the annually continuation of the ceremony, the event has gained worldwide popularity and attracted so much international interest as the first place in the world where the wedding was held that the Guinness World Records has awarded this event “The Largest Underwater Wedding Ceremony” in 2000.

VISIT JOHN HARDY KAPAL BAMBU BOUTIQUE IN BALI

Thetraveljunkie.org – We were lucky enough to visit one of the best concept showroom in the world. The Kapal Bambu Boutique, a 90-foot-tall bamboo cathedral, built in the shape of a ship’s hull from bamboo and alang alang, travel junkies can purchase the fine jewelry, handcrafted just steps away. Shop by and find the latest designs inspired by the beautiful and distinct nature, myths and traditions of Bali. All John Hardy jewelry can – and should – be worn every day, to inspire the wearer and serve as a signature piece. And one of my favorite is heritage limited edition macan cuff with blue paraiba tourmaline. Macan, Balinese for tiger, takes the main stage, representing courage, strength and passion.

AUTHENTIC BALINESE LUNCH WITH JOHN HARDY

Thetraveljunkie.org – We arrived at the John Hardy, a sustainable luxury brand creating objects of beauty; one of a kind, one at a time, each piece by hand. The brand’s home is in Ubud, the heart of Bali, where its jewelry is made in its open air compound that is equal parts studio, workshop and organic farm.  Around 12pm we went to join the John Hardy designers and artisans for an organic lunch served under the shade of a Banyan tree, and prepared by the five-star chef in a traditional Balinese, wood-burning oven. It was the best way to get some culture and rejuvenate our souls with the tropical breeze.

FOUR HANDS MASSAGE IN MERCURE BALI LEGIAN

Thetraveljunkie.org – One of the reasons why we want to return to Bali is because we love its Legian area. We started off our route with a coffee and avocado on toast and a 4 handed massage in Mercure Bali Legian is a truly wonderful and soothing experience with two different sensations happening at the same time my body and mind won’t know what sensation to focus on. This allows my mind and body to go even deeper into a meditative state of bliss. Four-handed massage is a massage where two therapists work on at the same time, mirroring each others’ movements. Best hours ever.
